Expense money
When you’re travelling for business, before you leave your house count your money so that you’ll know how to account for it. If you take your own money - as you should -make sure you keep it in a separate compartment or wallet.
Terrific ideas for cleaning everything
Worst first
Before you wash the kitchen ceiling vent or fan blades or filter in hot soapy water, take a paper towel and wipe off the bulk of that heavy, “furry” grease. Save a mess.
Party games
Telegram
Each player calls out a random letter of the alphabet until there are a dozen in all. The players then have 15 minutes to compose a telegram, each word beginning with the chosen letters and in that order. So if the letter shouted out were S.S.E.H.I.P.C.E.A.P.A.Z., the telegram could be SEVEN SWEATY ELEPHANTS HAVE INVADED PITCH. CROWD EXTREMELY AGITATED. PLEASE ADVISE. ZEBEDEE. The winner is the player adjudged to have come up with the cleverest offering. An alternative method of play is to select a word from a newspaper or magazine and to build a telegram, each word beginning with the letters of the chosen word and in that order. Thus RESTORED could end up as RANDY EARL STARTS TO OOGLE RETIRED ENTOMOLOGIST’S DAUGHTER.
Fun facts about dogs
Dogs at the Office
Mad Dogs and Englishmen, a New York advertising agency, allows employees to bring their dogs to work with them.
The agency was started by Nick Cohen, who brought his two dogs to the office to keep him company. The firm prospered, and as the number of employees grew, so did the number of pets. He now has twenty-five employees, many of them dog lovers who bring their pets to work on alternate days. Cohen says, “The dogs help the creative environment. Clients like it, too. It makes us more memorable.”
Carb counter
All vegetables are not created equal when it comes to net carb counts (or the glycaemic index). Green vegetables, salad leaves, mushrooms, onions and aubergines are all low in net carbs (and low on the glycaemic index), so can be eaten on all the low-carb diets. Carrots, tomatoes and green peas are slightly higher on the glycaemic index but they contain important nutrients, so earn their place on your plate. Starchy root vegetables are higher in carbs so should be eaten more sparingly; these include beets, squash, parsnip, and all kinds of potatoes.

Why do people in India eat such spicy food?
The favoured spice of India is curry, which is actually a mixture of several spices, such as turmeric, cayenne, cardamom, ginger, coriander, pepper, chili, mustard seed, cumin and cinnamon.
Spices can make bland, unappealing food taste and smell better and improve one’s appetite. This, however, is just one of the reasons people add spices to foods. There are other practical purposes for spice. Because spices like curry are hot, they cause the body to sweat and thus help to regulate the body’s temperature, making one feel cooler. For this reason, spicy foods are very popular in India, Mexico, and other warm countries. Spices in food also help to kill some germs and aid the digestive process.

Cockroaches
Cockroaches avoid the smell of salted herring and can be driven out if you lay out several salted herrings in the infested rooms. For a heavy infestation, call in professional pest control, because cockroaches can transmit dangerous diseases.
